Smart Personalised Learning

Invictus Global Schoolhouse (IGS) offers blended learning programmes, developed and taught by Singapore educators. Lessons will be a mixture of online self-directed and teacher-directed modes, offering students consultative guidance where needed.

Most lessons will be conducted online – both synchronous as well as asynchronous. Asynchronous lessons will consist of pre-recorded videos, learning activities or quizzes. For synchronous lessons, it will be live-streaming with Singapore teachers interacting with the students.

Bilingual Education

IGS recognizes the importance of the English language as the passport to educational and employment opportunities.

As such, we will support your acquisition of the language through a rigorous English Bridging Programme in your 1st year of study. We continue to enhance your English Language proficiency level in your second and third years with a special emphasis on scientific literacy and academic writing.

Our 3-Year English Programme will amply prepare you for IELTS assessment to achieve the required English proficiency standards for university admission.

English Language

Subject: English Language
Qualifications: IELTS
Duration: 3 years
Delivery method: Online, real-time classrooms, 24/7 access to curriculum
Start date: September 2022* and September 2023
Exam Details: All exams will be supervised and sat at an examination hall local to you
*subjected to fulfilling the criteria of an English Proficiency assessment

We offer an English Language programme that is centred on helping students develop the four communicative functions: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In so doing, we adhere to global standards of supporting students, in the learning of language. Focusing on these four skills will also help prepare our students for IELTS, which is a globally recognized English proficiency test, required by many universities for admission.

Our lesson themes are designed to be current and aligned with elements of the three Sciences. This is to support the process of developing scientific literacy through helping students see common patterns, in EL and scientific language. Some of these lesson themes include:

Pandemic
The Environment
Scientific Advancements
Science & Nature
Technology
The Internet
Media & Films
Sport
Education & Its Value

*Lesson themes are refreshed in line with global events to help students develop a broader understanding of the world.

We also differentiate our online instruction, catering to different student abilities and with an emphasis on helping novice students build confidence from the start. Research has shown the efficacy of propelling learning through talk. Thus, collaborative learning is an essential component of our English Language programme, helping students learn and communicate better in real situations.

Our English Language programme progresses in 3 phases:

Phase 1 - To help students transition from beginners to intermediate EL by international standards according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

Phase 2 - To help students apply language skills to understanding subject matter and assessment, elevating them through increasingly advanced material

Phase 3 - To prepare students for a fully EL-mediated university programme

*Our English Language programme will culminate in an IELTS qualification. The International English Language Testing System, or IELTS, is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English language speakers.

Students can choose to sit for the IELTS test between Mid-Year 2 to End-Year 3 while on the Invictus Global School programme.

STEM Education

IGS believes that in a world fuelled by advancements in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), immersion in these subjects will allow students to learn in the context of real-world application. STEM education provides a wider array of opportunities for further studies at universities.

Beyond the applicability of a solid STEM-Focused education, what IGS offers is a university preparatory programme where students will read primarily Cambridge A-Level Mathematics and Science subjects as these are the key subjects for entrance to many universities. As such, the Invictus Global School STEM-Focused curriculum is planned and implemented with strong intention to promote higher levels of success for our students.
